Season’s Greeting for X’Mas & Coming New Year –2011.
Our out station tour to Chennai- Thiruvannamalai – Sathanur Dam – Thiruvannamalai , Chennai is finalised as detailed below:
On 08-01-2011, Saturday
1) All of us report at CEG-entrance from Kotturpuram side at 6.45 am sharp. We then board the buses and proceed to Thiruvannamalai, halting enroute for a small break to ease and have tea /coffee, packed break fast will be provided in the bus.
2) On reaching Thiruvannamalai - only 15 min time is given to reach the room allotted and place the baggage. Please carry hand baggage to Dam site, with your medicines, swim dress, towels and other important necessities as required by your family.
3) Lunch will be served at Sathanur dam and other programmes will follow.
4) After dinner we drive down to Thiruvannamalai for night halt.
5) On 09.01.2011 after early breakfast , from 7.30am on wards we visit the Holy Temple of Sri Arunachaleswara for darshan and on completion of the above , have lunch and drive back to chennai.

Thanks for the Great meeting.
The step taken on 18th towards our 35th year reunion was very important.
We could see number of new faces which gave hope that we will have a great reunion.
The participation in the open house session was a clear indication of the involvement.
High lights.
1) The meet was sponsored by Shankar Ram.
2) Our college Dean Dr, SEAKR spent time with us explaining the operations of our Alumni Association,
The endowments are operated through a trust. An endowment established in 1949 by paying Rs.125/
is being honoured to day though it costs Rs.1200/- to day. The 1979 batch established a digital library
on their Silver Jubilee at a cost of Rs.30,00,000/ -.
Number of facilities --- Shining in our college in the name of various batches.
His speech also brought out the fact that 1975 batch is the only batch that did not have a 25th year reunion.
He has assured us all the help in conducting out 35th year reunion.
3) A sample survey was conducted on 3 point
A. Money to be collected , B Money to be Spent C, Choice of Festivities,
The survey was answered by 33 participants.
A & C, received full support for all the choice given,
the B --28 persons opted for spending money in the college and
5 wanted it to be spent on charitable activities out side the college.
4) Sunder shared his experience, especially being experienced in academia.
He also raised the topic of office bearers for the event.
It was brought out by Prabhu that same was handled in the previous meets,
clearly explaining the reasons why, how the process was carried out.
And ratified the selection of office bearers, and
also informed a bank a/c has been opened in the name of "GUINDY 1975 TEAM".
5) The expenses for the meet was discussed and it was arrived at Rs.7000/- per member.
Note IMPORTANT the payment for the meet or the other contributions
will be received by cheque or DD payable at Chennai, INR ONLY.
Let us make the re union a great memorable one for us and our institution

Karunagaran S (civil) got an award from Chief Minister of TamilNadu
Govindaswamy S - Silver Jubilee Celebration
Hi Guys,
Yesterday (14.03.10), a few of us attended the Silver jubilee Celebs of Sri Nallazhagu
Poly tech College at Puzhal (Red Hills) Chennai, at the invitaion of S.Govindasamy, (Secy of the College).
It was a well attended function with accolades flowing for our Govinda from all the VIP Guests,
followed by Biriyani Lunch. Apart from myself, Chandru, Raghu, Ramesh, Rajamanickam, Little (Elango),
Damodaran KS. Ganesan (accompanied by his Son) & C Prakash.

Sunday also happened to be the Crowning day for our dear Karuna, Chief Engr, Buildings (PWD).
He was honoured by the CM with a Memento in recognition of his efforts in getting the project ready in time
for the Inauguration Ceremony by The PM & Ms. Sonia Gandhi. Here is a pic of Karuna & other Govt. officials responsible
for the Secretariat project in the company of The Chief Secy, CM, Speaker & Dy CM)
along with the write up for the benefit of Tamil literate amongst us.
